can i be pregnant and how soon can i take a test?

i stopped taken my bcp on december 29th and on january 6th me and my boyfriend had unprotected sex twice and he did not pull out. my last period was december 28th and now i have a slight cramp on my left side and my breasts are more sensitive then usual..am i pregnant and when can i take a test?

If you stopped taking the birth control on the 29th...You are probably cramping because your body is ovulating. The pill stops you from ovulating. When you stop your body will start again. Based on the number of days the timing would be about right. And typically ovulation pain is on one side since you ovulate on alternating sides each month. Your breasts will be sensitive too from the hormones and during ovulation. The soonest you can check for pregnancy is the first day you are late for your period. However since you stopped taking the pill it is hard to say exactly how your cycle will go this month.

The only way to know if you are pregnant soon for 100% certainty is a blood test at your OBGYN. Good luck.

i hate how everytime a girl asks this question the answer most girls give is you probably are, in truth, the odds of getting pregnant from having unprotected sex once are low, they are not that small, maybe 10% 15%, but it also depends on the time of the month and other factors, even then, up to 1/4 fertilized eggs never even develop into pregnancies. as for when you can take the test, the other answerers are pretty much right.

It sounds like you're hormonal, which may or may not be related to pregnancy. It could be PMS or pregnancy.

Wait until the middle of February to take the test. I doubt you're prengant though, especially if you stopped taking the pill in late december. It can take 3 months to get out of your system.

If you and your boyfriend aren't ready to commit to marriage, you aren't ready to have a baby.

Here's a HUGE hint--marry your boyfriend before you have a baby. Trust me. If you want to marry him, do it NOW. You won't have the time or energy to lose the baby weight to fit into a wedding dress if you don't do it now. PLUS you'll have an easier time both being on the same insurance and dealing with the baby's name.

Sounds to me like you could be. I really suggest you going to a soctor rather than taking a test because tests are not always accurate but a place like planned parenthood can tell you for sure. If you are set on taking a test then you can take ojne as soon as 5 days before your missed period.

Maybe. I would relax, do not worry about, there nothing you could do. By the end of this month it does not come, take a test. Remember, stress can make your period late.

Their are test you can do 5 days before youe period is due. But these can give false negitives or give you such a faint line you have to question it for a week(that happened to me) Best to wait to after your due on.

First of all the breasts not only grow sensitive but they become heaveir and you dont just cramp on one side.Sounds to me like your just getting ready to start your period.
