His speed is 39.4 cm for every 7.3 seconds. it's a silly question. You need to add more to your question. Speed can be many things. Miles, Km, inches/min, hours .... we really do need to be more spacific :-)

speed = d/t


s=39.4/7.3

use a calculator to figure that out and always add the unit which in this case is cm/s

Ok, here goes.

39.4cm/7.3sec=5.4cm/1sec=2.12in/1sec

2.12in/sec * 1ft/12in * 1mile/5280ft * 60sec/1min * 60min/1hr= 7632miles/63360hr = .12045miles/hr

Basically, I'm multiplying 2.12in/sec *1*1*1*1, since a value divided by the same value is 1, so the resultant answer is equal. So the speed of your ant is .12045miles/hr
