okay our job is to split texas into five states and i cant think of a way to make our map POP! i want it to be unique so that nobody else has an idea like that and so i get a good grade.

Go to the library and get an atlas, they should have different maps (physical, geographic, natural resources, political, and so on). Then think of the ways you'd divide it and why - the large cities, the infrastructure, the highways, the resources - take everything into consideration.
But why on Earth would you think of putting this kind of question in Beauty and Style category????
