If you are going to mainly use it for internet then ensure you get one with 512mb,which the above one is and yes that seems to have what you need

160 GHz? You probably mean 1.60GHz, which is the clock speed of the processor (How fast the computer can process information).

L2 Cache (or any cache for that matter), is used to generally reduce the time is takes for your memory to be accessed.

Your ram is the system memory. Most laptops come with at least 512MB.

FSB is Front side Bus and is the speed in which your computer can access memory. This sometimes ranges from 400 MHz to 1066 MHz.

Hard drive is where you store information, and GB is a measure. Most new laptops come with 80GB of space or more.

The combo drive you specify says you can burn CDs and watch dvd's.

Then you have your wireless card which enables you to use wireless internet where there is a router.

Brand new this system should run you about $1200 CDN at most.

Its a celeron dont buy it !.
Celerons have limited cache and are slow with floating point calculations,
Its also a combi so you cant write DVDs

What to look for :
Processors.. Intel Pentium Mobile, Intel Dual Core, AMD Turion
Memory at least 512MB Ram,
Hard drive at least 40 GB Hard drive (5400 Spin speed minimum),
Wireless Intel Centrino or internal wireless card 802.11b/g,
Screen minimum 14.1 TFT (xblack if possible)
DVD Writer

You can get the above new for £ 390

A good deal for how much money?

The system it's self is fine as a laptop.

512mb will run fast enough as a laptop (but not to play any games)

Widescreen is a plus

Dvd playing drive

40 GB hard drive is fairly good

Should be fast on the internet

Only problem is I would upgrade to Vista, Xp is soon to "retire" and you may feel the need to just stay with modern software and operating system. Ask about upgrading to Microsoft Vista.

On the whole a good system

7/10

Get one of these:
http://www.apple.com/macbook/macbook.html
or
http://www.apple.com/macbookpro/

They're much better computers. They can run much more software, since only they can run OS X, Windows, and Linux. OS X is much more secure than Windows, and it's easier to use.
