Hi,
This might work. Buy some purple leather and cut it to size then using fabric glue or use a sewing machine, attach it to your gloves.
Hope that helps you.
PS,
An after thought, post your question in the Games & Recreation section. In there is hobby and crafts, someone might be able to help you there.

Dyeing from purple to black would be simple. Black to purple, well, that's a job! You'd first have to get the black out. Anything else is just going to make it darker. There's no way to cover up black with anything lighter than black. If you're really serious about this, you may have to bleach the area, then color it. But you'll probably never get all the black out. No way could you go from black to yellow, for example. Bleaching out most of the black and ending up with a grayish color might allow the purple to take. But then again, the amount of bleaching you'd have to do could possibly ruin the leather. It's a tough call however you do it.

If you can find purple leather dye, it's possible....I recently dyed a leather coat. Black dye is easy to find, it's in the area of any store that sells shoe polish, but you may have to do an online search to find purple leather dye. You can find it on a website that has leather tooling products. If the purple dye is of a thick enough consistency, it MAY cover the black.

i dont think that is possible without ruining the material. you are better off just purchasing a pair of purple gloves which might be a little hard to find. but this way you will have both colors and wear which ever one you would prefer that day.

the costume is pretty cool, but not too crazy about the mask, kinda reminds me of masked wrestling. But seeing that the character is essentially supposed to be in all leather, the mask fits great. You might also try a Zorro type mask. Looks spicy! oh...and find a spiked choker necklace!

You need to apply a deglazer to remove the existing finish on the leather. then You will need to apply the right color dye. Once the dye has been applied, you will need to apply a super shene finish to get the finish back. We sell this. Please visit us at http://stores.ebay.com/ezyrex-online.... Search for "deglazer dye"

PAINT> Just mask the part you want to keep black and spraypaint the rim purple. You can also use brush on acrylic or oil paint. It works great.
