How to assemble image montages.?

Question

Can't find a way to control placement, sizing of multiple images, or any items, on one page. Wordpad has a mind of its own and shifts items to where it wants. I've been a computer user for a year, W2000. Have MGI Photosuite. Don't have Office or Word and don't want them. Controlling multiple pastes is a bugger.

I mean I haven't been able to create any montages within Photosuite either.
