You did not say how old you are and how much you make.

With out being specific I will say this.

1. Open a checking account and a savings account in a local bank

2. Make a budget and calculate how much you can save. Say $25.00 per week

3. When you get your pay check, the first thing to do will be to deposit $25.00 (weekly) in your savings account.

4. Some banks would automatically transfer that amount from your checking to your savings if you sign up for it.

5. Whenever you have extra money, tax return, bonus, etc., put it in the savings account.

6. Never withdraw money from the savings account

Good Luck !

i am the same way. i am 19 lived on my own for a year and cant keep two pennies to rub together.
what i do is hide money in places i won't think to look. dont hide it all in one spot either because you will remember where it is. or hide it in a spot that is hard to get to
also try getting a bank account from a bank that is not in your area so it is hard to get the money out, this might not work if you dont ever go their but you may be able to get direct deposit.
hope some of this is helpful

I have the same problem, the more I make the more I spend.Especially spending money on my kids. My daughter treats me awful at times, but when she ask for something I feel like I have to get it. I think it was because I saw how much my mom and dad sacrificed for me, I think that I have to do the same thing for my kids. Trust me my kids want for nothing. I think that I'm not the only one, many of my friends say the same thing.

Make a realistic budget for yourself and then stick to it, even when it means you can't buy the latest iPhone gadget.

Another way is to set aside some money from every paycheck and tell yourself that it's off limits. You could even open a separate savings account for it.
