I thought the dems stood for truth, honor, and justice. What happened? Bush's speech, and his 60 Minutes interview really scared the dems, it shows.

The Democrats with brains know that Bush cannot be impeached. He has not committed any "high crimes or misdemeanors" as is required in the Constitution. They know that all the impeachment talk is just a lot of demagoguery and rhetoric for consumption of their base.

You mistake the need for proof of illegal activities for fear. There are already committees hard at work investigating the lies that sent us into Iraq. Before bringing legitimate charges that lead to impeachment, evidence must be obtained. I believe that George Bush did deliberately lie to the American people to attack a country he was obsessed with. I also believe that he shamefully used a connection to 9/11 that didn't exist to tweak the emotions and fears of the American people, and Congress, so that he could attack Iraq. But, what I believe isn't good enough to say it's time to impeach. Proof is required, plain and simple. If the Democrats starting pushing for impeachment the lack of proof would make them all look like fools - and fools they are not. The Democrats are not scared, they are wise not to follow an overemotional path of revenge without evidence to back up their actions. Believe me, I detest this President and I think he is the most dangerous man ever to hold this office. We will be very lucky to get past his remaining two years without his incompetence and arrogance igniting WWIII. But you cannot impeach a President on accusations with no real evidence to back up the charges - there is no way around that.

SIDE NOTE: The Democrats never used impeachment as a tool to get elected. They never claimed they would seek to impeach. In fact, before the elections Pelosi was saying loud and clear they would NOT seek impeachment.

The institution of the Presidency is like a sacred cow. All patriotic people in America hold that position in high esteem and respect... unfortunately, we've had two tyrants in office that have thought of themselves as being above the law and the Constitution and have had no respect for the Constitution and the laws of the land...Richard M. Nixon (a/k/a: "Tricky Dicky") and George W. Bush, Jr (a/k/a: "Duhhh Dubya"). Impeachment would mean tarnishing the position of the Presidency and putting those that came before in bad company with the one who would be impeached, and it would put America in bad light with the rest of the world. The Democrats are only afraid of the damage Dubya is doing while he's in office... they're counting the days...! And even though the Dems are in the majority in both houses, they still do NOT have enough votes to impeach that would-be King and (false) Messiah as he deludes himself to be.

EDITED: Terry E: Slick Willy killed a few million sperm cells on Monika's face... but Bush's lies got us in war that has thus far killed slightly over 3,000 American enlisted personnel and tens of thousands of civilians overseas, while his cronies are profiteering and making fortunes by over-charging the government and not ONE solitary person questions the fees paid to these ghouls. Dubya has not had the testicular fortitude (cojones) to attend at least one funeral of the 3,000+ dead Americans! A difference that political fanatics seem to conveniently overlook. Do you think Slick Willy was the only President to get a little nooky in the White House... or the ONLY politician that's done so? BE REAL. And if YOU want to defend this senseless war, go and enlist... or are you another one who encourages others to go and risk their lives like Dubya, Cheney, the super rich and powerful who won't encourage their own grown children go to risk their lives in a war they're making huge fortunes with?

EDITED: John C: there were two Johnsons (after Lincoln and after Kennedy); talks were underway for each one, just like the process was underway for Tricky Dicky but he was pardoned by Ford (and Vice President Agnew stepped down or he surely would have been impeached for tax evasion and other crimes).

I keep seeing all this impeach bush and it's so stupid. The demos can't "impeach" the president. I don't care for his screendoor personality either but he has to give a substancial reson for impeachment. Speeches and interviews are not reasons. Unlike the general population of men there has to be a real reason, besides the fact you are unliked.

I believe they won't impeach him b/c while he is guilty of many many things, "high crimes and misdemeanors" isn't one of them. Even though he's been completely wrong with the whole Iraqi debacle, he is perfectly within the rights of his office to do what he's done, so there's no grounds. That being said, no president who was ever impeached (Johnson & Clinton) was actually done so for "high crimes and misdemeanors," both of theirs were entirely political, so who know's they still might. But hopefully, they're above the political bickering and can convince him to work with them until he's finally done in two years.

Before they gained the majority, they used the excuse that the Republicans wouldn't go for it. Now, I hear the same silence in that arena, and I have come to the conclusion that many of them are just as corrupt as he, and could give a crap about impeaching him. And Jefro, if they impeached Clinton basically for getting BJ's, I imagine they could do it for anything.

Hey Emotional!!! That's your problem. You should try thinking & availing yourself of some research - you would find that there are NO impeachable offenses that have been committed by this Pres. Now, Bill Clinton is another story altogether.

If you could remove someone from office for being ignorant, we would lose 2/3's of the Congress.
