She is around 3 months. The other day she said she was spotting and cramping. Does this mean anything serious or does the fact that this just happened once, means it is okay? She feels like she's okay now.

Some cramping and spotting can be normal. If it has stopped, there should be no problem. If she is still worried, a trip to the doctor might well be worth relieving some stress and anxiety.

Oh, I had that around 3 months. I panicked and went to my doctor. She told me it is very normal.

I would suggest your friend call her doctor anyway (better safe than sorry) but it did happen to me, and I had a healthy little boy 6 and a half months later.

Spotting can be a sign of miscarriage. I hope she went to the doctor or ER. She should call her doctor right away.
