Funny question. You want a "decent woman" ? Where do you think she might be hanging out? If a decent woman is looking for a decent man, she doesn't look in the bars. She doesn't really want a drunkard for a mate. Try changing your behaviors - your social hangouts. I met my "decent" man at church. He says, "Every man would do good to have such a wonderful woman" as me. (I guess he thinks I am decent!)

It took a few years, but once I stopped looking for that right guy, and just asked God to intervene in his own time, I met my hubby when I wasn't even looking. A match "made in heaven".

Good luck. There are still lots of the "decent" kind out there- change your strategy a little.

If you met a 35-year-old who hadn't yet made the plunge to get married and start a family, wouldn't you think there was something wrong with her? I know my friends and I who were divorced and dating in our 30's, were suspicious of any man who'd gotten to that age and never made a love connection. It's you who need to prove yourself. Maybe they're worried you have unrealistic expectations.

The only people who go to bars are people who will continue to, well, go to bars. The minute there is a hint of conflict, they'll head back to the bar and the tantalising unknown, rather than stay and sort things out. And so might you, if you're meeting women in bars.

I love that, you ask a question and then you attack because you don't like the answer. You're a real prize, no wonder you're still single.

In general, people blow. However, if I'm going to be honest with you, I have to say that I think you might be overstating the case and acting a little bit like a pvssy. Look, find someone with similar interests and stop trying to find Miss Perfect in a bar--upscale, ghetto or otherwise. Find someone with a brain who also looks good. They're not that hard to find. If you look in the right places, they are plentiful. Anyway, the world is over 6 billion years old and your life in the grand scheme of things is meaningless--just like the rest of us. So, does it really matter whether you have a lovey-dovey relationship?. Just hit it and quit it until you find something worthy.

Actually we have more than our share of male-losers here in America. So we don't need to import any more. Give those of us women who are indeed women in the best sense of the word, a break. Don't stalk us here. You may sound good on the surface, we'd go out with you a few times and find out that you are the judgmental egocentric you portray yourself as here. Then we would have to kick you to the curb, and you'd be free to prey on some other unsuspecting woman. And who told you bars are the place to find women? Totally devoid of class!

Look... I'm not over 35 or a man but it sucks for me too. Men who aren't married gay or hung up on their mothers tend to be complete loosers or out of towners. I am the whole package and just won't settle for less in a partner... so do I give up as a woman? No- and if you Decent men all give up then how will we ever find each other? Perhaps I should be killing time on a dating site instead of on Y answers!!!!

I'm much older than you, J-Man. And I ain't throwin' in the towel. although I am really discouraged. If I go for the social date. I end up forking out way too much. if I go for Emotion. There's lies and alibi's, galore. "Over 35". Hah! It gets worse over 40.

Dude, I'm seventeen and I've already given up. I'm not some stupid teenager either- I'm a very mature and intelligent one. I see what you're talkin about and agree. I like women. I don't like sluts and low class 'chicks'. (I hate that word.) Where have they all gone?!
