My 2 month old has cradle cap.....well,...more like cradle helmet! It only flakes when I give him a bath. When he is dry you can't tell at all except for one dry patch on the top. What's the best treatment for this? Is there any way to make it go away faster? How long does it last?

Washing your baby's hair once or twice a week and sometimes you need to firmly rub to remove any cradle cap. Put baby oil on the cap at night and wash it off in the morning. This will probably clear it up and you may have to repeat it a second night.
If the scales are thick and crusted use petroleum jelly, vaseline. Put it on at night, this should soften the crust sufficiently that you can remove them in your baby's morning bath.
If you are unable to successfully remove the cap, mention it to your doctor and he may prescribe an ointment for you to apply.

I think its Johnson & Johnson Eczema body wash (its in a funny green bottle). I used it on my daughter a few times and her cradle cap when away with a good brushing while the wash was in her hair.

Th treatment I used on my kids was you put baby oil on their heads, then take a baby brush. Keep brushing it for a few minutes. Then give the baby's head a break and you could continue the next day until it goes a way. Just make sure you use plenty of baby oil on their little head.
