Having a head cold won't impact your singing as long as you breathe correctly [from the diaphram].

Drink tea with honey and lemon before you perform it will help your throat and clear your head some.

Rest, drink lots of fluids, and more rest.

You tell them you have a head cold before you sing, preferably before you go on stage. What else do you do!?
