In the 70's, we were DOOMED to have a global ice age on Earth. However, now we are DOOMED to fry from global warming. Does anyone know when this transition will take place?

Also, can you Liberals start with the ice age thing again? I am from Louisiana, and we could use some cooler weather.

There was a great article about this in Newsweek. You're right - within the next 20 years, they'll be screaming about "GLOBAL COOLING" again !!! It's simply the earth going through its cycles - quite natural and quite normal.

Because when I was a kid, the 100-degree days never lasted this long nor started this early in the summer. Usually we don't see them until at least August. If the climate isn't warming, how do you explain that 7 daily highs are broken for every daily low that is broken across the world this year, up from 4 to 1 over the past couple years? Shouldn't that be more of a 1-to-1 ratio?

The actual Al Gore quote is "During my service in the United States Congress, I took the initiative in creating the Internet." What was he doing? What all members of Congress do: taking credit for the program he championed and funded. What a jerk.

I remembered the whole global warming issue coming to service back in the 80s. Al's just using his status as a well-known figure to help spread the word. Is global warming true? All I know is it use to snow a couple of feet every year where I live as a kid and now - not saying how many - decades later it doesn't anymore.

The transition happened in the 80s when the warm spells started happening. We had a few years of drought and the normal cool weather stopped happenin, that is around the time the ice age theory stopped. Oh yea, bird migration changed as well. The warming trend kept going on and around the mid to late 90s the global warming theory happened, this of course after we blamed the loss of the rain forrest on it and freakin' El Ninio, gah that was blamed for everything!

Oh yea, the causes of global warming are cow farts, sun spots, industrialization, rain forrest (again), and natural.

You noticed that too? You get don't attention by saying the same thing. You get your name out there by saying something controversial and getting others to believe in it. Or jumping on the band wagon of the next fad theory. When I was in grade school (60ties) we had text books which talked about mammoths and showed maps of glaciers covering most of the northern part of north America, Including all of New England. We also had textbooks which had the Pilgrims landing on Plymouth rock. Logical conclusion is that global warming started long before the birth of the united states and way before George W Bush. We cycling fad theories because people like to be famous.

Global warming will lead to another ice age. The Earth has been going through these cycles for millions of years. It happens.

About the early '80's I think; they realized that we weren't being terrified anymore by the global ice age thing so they had to figure something else to terrify us and try to bend us to their will.

The increase of CO2 created a change. By warming the average temperature, ice melts. This ice melting can change ocean currents which bring warmth to Europe. If the temperature increases, the ice melts, stops the current, and cools of Europe. The average temperature of the world can therefore increase while Europe's average temperature decreases.

Scientists agree that climate change is real and humans have an affect on it.

As Al Gore, the Kennedy's and the movie starts climb on their private jets and scoot around the world they yell global warnings! One wonders if they are so concerned why they don't outlaw the private jets!

After Al Gore invented the internet he turned his sights on the globe. Shortly there after he invented "Global Warming." Funny that he never realized that this sysle has happened millions of times before. And even is we here in America cut our pollution in half China and India will far surpass whatever we stopped producing negating the effort.
