The United States will have a revolution, many people will try to flee.. but that will be a little hard with that new wall going up along the Mexican boarder.. btw.. that wall wasn't for the Mexicans. Those who up-rise against the Gov. will be put into concentration camps... which they have already built on old military bases.. and things will really suck!!! The dollar will be worthless..here and everywhere else in the world. Our rights are already being taken away.. and yet no one speaks up.. Take the blind fold off and WAKE UP!

Asia will begin to dominate economically and will probably westernize a bit. Africa will still be poor. Their people will continue to die of AIDS, but I do believe that funding for AIDS research will dramatically increase. America will lose their status as the world's #1 superpower. This will shock no one but Americans. I get the impression that Europe is a sort of stagnant place economically, but I also have the impression that the people of Europe live their lives more fully than anywhere else on Earth. The Middle East will continue to be a disaster area. South America? Poor. Australia? Chillin.

That's my guess.

If i might want to predict the habit of the inventory marketplace in 2 years, i might want to be a very wealthy guy. So predicting what is going to take position in 500? ignore it. If all is going in accordance to tendency, however, i might want to predict better preparation and a lot less reliance on fundamentalist kinds of religion or, in different words, a better secular international. yet countless issues can take position in 500 years...

Environmental--Peak Oil. It will either hit or we will be able to see it coming, and finally, Big Business will get off its collective fatass and *do something* positive about the degradations of the world's environment and ecosystems.

Of course it will be too little way too late. The global warming we are having right now will likely take a century or more to get rid of because the pollution causing it has been there *that long*, it has had that much time to build up. So we'd have to seriously work our tails off to put a dent in the problem, and it would take 50-100 years for any changes to take place, *if then*.

In other words....in terms of our environment and non-renewable resources, we will be screwed royally if we aren't already. Just in terms of solving the problem so some six billion odd people can *keep on living here*.

Politics--For the most part, freedom is dead here in the United States, unless you are rich.

It didn't start with G.W.Bush, ok, but it became *clear* with the problems of that regime. It actually started in the 1980s with Reagan basically *selling out* the nation in favor of a very select few *very rich men*....with the stripping out of our infrastructure (public schools, police and court systems, social service systems) and with debts and deficits, and with this so-called "free trade" that is more of a free-for-all for the CEO Class while the rest of us get *slim pickings* courtesy of Graham-Rudman budgeting and its counterparts overseas....basically it started when people in Political Office decided to make Keynesian economics not only dead but *impossible*.

Why? Could it be because the labor unions and the civil rights movements were making too much progress in the 1970s, and the corporate rich *got scared*? I dunno....

But the point is....America last resembled a free nation, where people had opportunities to improve their lot in life, and where law-abiding citizens had civil rights that *mattered*, roughly from the mid-1980s until the New Economy died in the early 2000s...and from here on out, it's all going to go to crap as we resemble a Police State and/or a Plantation State more and more.

And....while people elsewhere pooh-pooh all this as the natural course of history....the question sort of remains, doesn't it? Without *someone* around to put the pressure on people with regard to issues of freedom and human rights, *who* will actually do it, and do it *forcibly* when needed? I really *don't* see the Chinese doing this, sorry... :)

Cultural--We are in for a nasty, cruel ride fairly soon.

Quite simply, the Western Nations have been maintaining the tradition of *religious tolerance* for so long that we've lost all perspective, and possibly all sense of Self-Preservation. We simply no longer have it in us, in terms of the people we *allow* to be in charge, to make a distinction between a religious faith that is a *part* of society, and a geo-political movement *disguised* as a faith, that seeks the active *overthrow* of society in favor of *theocratic dictatorship*.

And I am not just talking about the Muslims either. I am also concerned with the Evangelical Dominionists in America, who would establish a "Christian" dictatorship in the U.S. in a heartbeat. But yes, Wahabbi Islam and Evangelical "Christianity" are my two biggest concerns for the near future....even though there are others, your Rammists in India and your Political Zionists in Israel.

I digress though. Point is, we are in for a *Global* Civil War in the near future, not between nations, but between those Jihadists and Fundamentalist Zealots of *any* faith, who seek the End of Days, to the point of *insisting* on shoving their agenda down the throats of the *entire* human race, and the rest of us who *want* the Human Race, and who want Western Civilization to keep going.

Call it open warfare between Humans Who Yet Reason, versus the Fanatics Who Want to be Sheep. Or not.

Point is....we need to do *something* to rein in the more genocidal tendencies of our heavy-duty religious *bleaters*. And that is the moderate position, really, that they get reined in, *controlled*, that they are allowed to go on living but *not to* destroy all that is good about Humanity and the World we all live on in the process.

The alternative is actually playing into their hands, you see....they *want it* to boil down to a war of eradication, so they can point to *our* behavior, blame us, "be the martyr, be the victim", and *justify* even more of the mass murder that goes on in the *name of* their "loving God". They'd *rather* kill or be killed.

When the real issue is more complicated: How *do* we preserve human civilization, human rights, and humanity itself, and *not* destroy Religious Faith when said faith is so political, toxic and violent that it has *Become the Enemy* of all things itself?

In short....

Life sucks. It will suck harder shortly. Not that the world's coming to an end, but many people will want it to just to end the suffering.

When there are so many other better ways to do that besides killing each other.
