Hi there.

One metre = 39.37 inches, one foot = 12 inches, therefore 5 feet 6.5 inches = 66.5 inches = 66.5/39.37 metres. This makes 1.689103 metres.

If you prefer to multiply rather than divide, you can multiply inches by 2.54 to find centimetres. 66.5 x 2.54 =
168.91 centimetres, or 1.6891 metres.

Since you're looking at finding your bmi, you won't need any more accuracy than 1.69 metres; your height actually changes by a few millimetres during the day anyway. You shrink slightly under your own weight & regain your full height while you lay sleeping.

As for the relevance of your bmi, some prospective employers ask for this as they believe it is an indicator of how well you look after yourself - too heavy & you have let yourself go, to light & you will be weaker & more prone to diseases & other afflictions.

Convert to Metric .
5 ft 6 1/2 ins = (5 x 12) + 6 1/2 ins = 66 1/2 ins.
To convert inches to centimetres use the conversion factor
1 inch = 2.54 cms.
So 66 1/2 ins x 2.54 = 168.91 cms = 1.69 metres. (2 d.p.)

About 1.689 meters. If you're lazy, google has a calculator, so all you have to do is type in "5 feet 6.5 inches to meters" and the answer will pop up.

1 foot = 0.30480 meters

therefore: 5.54168 feet x 0.30480 = 1. 6891 meters or 1 meter & 68.91 centimeters.

I don't know what it has to do with a job application, but here it is.

5 foot 6.5inches = 66.5 inches
Now 1 inch = 2.54 cm and therefore
66.5 inches = 66.5 x 2.54 cm = 168.91 cm = 1.69 m ( to 2 decimal places)
