This guy that I breiefly met was telling me how he cheats on his taxes by claiming everything as a business expense (and this is a guy that makes a decent amount of money - therefore, should be paying a decent amount in taxes). He is an arrogant show-off and is in my opinion committing fraud on several people in order to make money. I know his name, and the name of his business. How can I alert the IRS? Also, can I make this claim anonymously? Will the IRS bother to do anything? Thanks!!

If you think he is defrauding people, report him to the police and not the IRS. If he is also evading taxes, let the police get the IRS involved.

Now I can understand you wanting to stop him from defrauding people but what do you care if he is evading taxes? Most show-offs are usually also full of sh!t. He may not be any different.

Also, chances are you will not be able to claim this anonymously. You may be required to provide testimony on what he said to you. If he is charged with a crime, he has a legal right to confront his accusers in court!

Why be a rat? Really....Behave yourself and ignore this guy,...if he harmed you maybe I could see you being vendictive. Are you the kind of person that rings 911 on the highway when someone passes you doing 90mph? Stay away from this blowhard and get on with your life.He will go down for tax evasion if thats what hes doing you dont need to tattle-tale.

You can call up the IRS and report him. People do this all the time. BUT! Make sure you have facts to back you up. If you can give enough information, they will check into it.

Good for him.. he beat the system.. did you know that 45% of your taxes go to supporting the war and creating new weapons to kill innocent people. F**K Taxes!!!

Why do you care..? It's not your problem Mr. Perfect. If he's smart enough to cheat his taxes every year and not get caught.. then good for him..!

Really.. why do you care?

I think that if you saw a robbery or murder or anything
like that is the only time you stick your 2 cents into some one Else's affairs .

Before they will take your claim you must prove he is cheating. Your belief won't be good enough. You will have to submit your proof and his SSN (which may not be easy to get either). Good Luck.
