now if i cut the pipe off after the y and run 2``pipe will that give me a different sound

This will change the sound somewhat louder, but I wouldn't run a Y off of a straight pipe. If you want duals, run them from the exhasust manifold on back.

You didn't say what model, or even if you are going to drive it on the street. There may be laws effecting your truck. Try getting a 2 chamber Flow master muffler put on. You'll be legal (barely) and have a loud tone to go with it. Muffler-less is not only loud, but really doesn't sound good.

yes it will but did you no that you are losing horse power by ruining strait pipes on your truck you are taking all off your back presser off the valves and are not getting the right mount off scavenging threw the exhaust put on some 24inch glass pack and put them on backwards it will steal give you all the sound and get your horse power back and that is what it about not the noise. good luck
