There would be no truck drivers, no waiters, no garbage men, no firemen to save lives, etc. It gets on my nerves when parents think that if their kid doesn't become a doctor or a lawyer it means they're a failure. It's just not for everyone and humanity would cease to exist if everyone was a professional!

Holding a degree does not make someone intelligent. The only thing you'll learn in school, is how to work for someone else. I gave up college within the first year, never looked back, and I am more successful then all my friends who received degrees. Determination gets you far.. not a piece of paper.

Is an education overrated? Absolutely not! Basically, with an education, you'll make more money in your lifetime than you would if you didn't have it.

Another point to think about is the type of work you will do. Without an education, if you really want to make money for your family, the better paying jobs are going to be that of Blue-collar workers. They have a higher tendency of injuring themselves due to the nature of their work.

However, you are correct in the fact that humanity would not exist if everybody had an education. Woe will be the day when you need an MBA to get a cashiers job at Walmart.

An education goes further for you than just the job.
There is no justification for saying no to an education, if you have a chance to get one.
Look for another escape route, education is the best way to enrich your life in so many ways, the forum isn't long enough to explain.

Example ask any waiter or truck driver if he wouldn't still like the experiance of getting that piece of paper.
