Having seen the channel 4 documentary dispatches I was shocked to see so many so called moderate mosques and organisations appearing to be a front for a more radical movement. You could argue that there is a televised bias but some of the literature for sale and the DVD's available clearly show a blatent disrespect for any kind of multiculturalism or move towards tolerance. So is it time for a more active response from the general population if the moderate muslims can't or don't want to act to sort this problem out. I don't have the answers but maybe you do. Any ideas what we should do ??

leyla before you start criticising my knowledge or the fact i watched TV you are wrong. I do read I studied history at University and am well aware of books. You can argue that moderate Islam has othing to do with these clerics yet surprise surprise they keep popping up in "moderate" Islamic centres.

I think the Muslim community needs to act. There is the occasional remark that the extremists do not represent Islam but there is no action, and if anyone else acts to suppress the hate the extremists preach, all Muslims shout that it is an attack on Islam.
There has always been an implicit acceptance by all Muslims of the extremism. This of course means that the 'moderate' Muslims will not act against the extremists. So, action must be taken by the government despite the outcry it is bound to produce. Britain has a history of tolerance and it must be extended to all. There is no place for the hate preached by the radical mullahs. If the British way of life is so hateful to them then they should be put on to a plane to a destination that has a way of life acceptable to them.

It would be appropriate I think for the Muslim community to comment on this programme. We can then see how many fair minded Muslims live amongst us and whether they are keen to see these scums bags deported from these shores.
Brain washing by someone converted to the Muslin faith and who was spouting out that those of his own religion who choose to turn away from that faith will be punished by Crucifixion.
Why are we allowing these people to live amongst us. Religious persecution surely has died in this country? We are a democracy and men women and children throughout the ages died to make it so.
This new radicalism is setting this country back generations and should not be tolerated by anyone.

First of all, there is no muslim word that translates to "tolerance". Anyone seeking to tolerate and pacify Muslims as a way to cope and survive is kidding themselves. Unfortunately, even the most moderate Muslim practitioners can be slowly indoctrinated into believing that ALL INFIDELS (that is anyone who does not accept the Koran and its teachings AND denounce all other religions)
must be eliminated. There is no way for non-muslims to be sure that their friendly neighbor the Muslim will not show up at the cook-out with a bomb-salad.

Britain should do exactly what the USA should be doing: putting every single Muslim organization under 24 x 7 surveillance, both in the open and secret. Muslim terrorism is big time serious, they aren't going to quit until the non Muslim west is either coverted to the Religion of Peace or dead.

The only safe way to remove the radical muslim community from Britain is to expel the whole lot of them from the country. Our suspicions have long been confirmed that their aim is to take over the country. They have been preaching hatred towards non-muslims for decades, should the dark day come and they do eventually take over, they will impose their terrifying regime on all and it will result in bloodshed for non-muslims. I predict that there will be a civil war in Britain within the next 10 years, they have to be stopped.

Britian needs to start appreaciating British culture again. For the last generation, they've been taught to be ashamed of it. Then the British should stop welfare checks to illegal immigrants. Ship them back immediately.
Honestly, the channel 4 documentary probably only scratched the surface.

The very first thing that should be done is that no one should be able to preach in any other language but English.This is a law that as been brought into many countries across Europe apart from the UK.

im sure if the govt influences the mosques, then thatll be like "interfereing" with the religeous affairs by politics or anti muslim activists. people cant play double standards with what they say and what they preach, its time for dialogue and draw out pucca outlines of the expectations from both sides.
Encouragin culture is good for a country,even economically jus as long as there are no traitors plotting. i agree its high time moderate muslims hav their say.

Shut the radicals down if they preach against us deport them even if they are home grown they give up the right the second the go against the country the raised them!

Anyone caught threatening the Queen and country to an extreme [i.e bomb threats] should be taken out and shot on full public display along with a loved one, and have that for pain and discomfort.
