Wrestling is not faked. The moves and holds are real but rehearsed and very carefully orchestrated before the actual match.

If you were to ask one of the wrestlers what their profession is, they will say that they are wrestling entertainers and that is exactly what they are.. I was friends with a couple of professional wrestlers and thats what they called themselves, but make no mistake about it, they are some strong tough SOBs in top shape and they do know how to really wrestle. The get paid according to the contract they sign.. they are either good guys or bad guys. They may wear a mask at one location and be a bad guy and then they may be mister wonderful at the next venue without the mask.. they get paid extra if they bleed..It is not fake, it is real, but it is rehearsed and staged. Oh and to many, it is entertaining...

well I'm a wwe fan (for now, because Vince is really losing it lately) the problem is that since the storylines are staged and the matches are booked, a lot of people think that WWE is "fake". But is not fake because as part of any character script, you have to sell both your moves and sell your opponents moves during the match, and that requieres REAL wrestling skills. The wrestlings are real, you can tell by the damage, by the blood. Great example of this is Mick Foley (watch Undertaker vs Mankind, hell in the cell. Impossible to fake THAT match) So yes, as the slogan says itself, "it IS entreteinment, but the hazards are real"

OK well first many people prefer the term pre-determined to fake. Why because you just don't fake picking up a 400 lb. man and throwing him. But actaully doing it is staged and pre-determined.
How can you or how do you know this... Go to a live match and get good seats or take a pair of good binoculars. Punches are pulled, things to cut yourself with are hidden in the tape on the hands, you can see them talk to each other quietly when they are both in the corner and so on.
Or you can watch a tv special on it where the wrestlers themselves explain how they do what they do.
Or read a book or two by old wrestlers.
But again, it's not true sport but it's not fake either.

The whole thing is scripted and planned out. Do you think people could really survive all that with only minimal injuries if it was real? Like a sledgehammer to the chest? I am pretty sure that that would bust a few ribs, maybe puncture a lung.
Sure sometimes they get hurt for real - but that is more of a case of something going wrong or an accident. It is not intentional.

Yes it is fake. I saw last year one of Rick Flare's (sp) supposed friends (the one that spits water out when he enters the ring) beat Rick all the way into the parking lot and threw him through a limo after he beat him on the head with steel pipes and what not. I'm sorry, no one could have survived that and still be conscious and no one would have allowed that to continue either. I've also seen people have cars rolled over top of them and they keep fighting.

If you are referring to the WWE, they have made no qualms about claiming that the product that they are pushing is for mere entertainment. Anyone with half a brain knows that...
Arguing whether it's fake or not is missing the point...

You're joking right. Mankind once took 11 chair shots to the head. If I hit you 11 times in the head w/a steel chair, do you think you'd be living to tell about it.
