i dont think that people should get an abortion i think its "murder". Can anyone give me advice on why people get abortions and great sites and why they are wrong.

Although I believe it isn't right to get an abortion, I also believe that it is a woman's choice. It's her body, she needs to make the decisions, but I think that more info needs to be put out there about what abortion really does, not just the short term effects, but the long term effects. I have had to perform abortions while in medical school, and I will never do them again. I won't do them in my practice, and most women respect that. I don't feel we have the right to tell others they are wrong to believe what they do, each person has to find their own beliefs on their own. I don't think it's right to push your beliefs onto others.
As far as why women do it: Some do it because they have no other option, or think they don't. In the case of rape, or incest, it is the feeling of being a victim. Some do it because they believe that it is the right thing at the moment. Some do it as a form of birthcontrol. Still, others do it out of fear of people finding out about the pregnancy. There are many reasons and to each woman, these are her feelings and beliefs. I think we should respect that and not push too hard to get answers.

If you feel abortion is wrong, there's most likely no way anyone is going to give you information to make you feel any differently about it. I am pro-choice; basically any information you give me telling me why a woman shouldn't get an abortion isn't going to sway my opinion on the subject. I can tell you why I think a lot of women get abortions, but is that really what you're after? Or are you trying to prove your point?

Some people have abortions because they aren't ready to be parents, it was a just one time thing, or they weren't smart enough to use protection. The way I see it is, if you lay down and spread your legs for a few minutes of pleasure and you didn't use protection, be ready to pay the consequences. We have made it so easy for a person who gets pregnant out of stupidity to solve that problem. There should be a law that mandates "people who have an abortion, will be convicted of murder." You'll see how quick people will start using protection.

I personally agree with you, so when I try to step into another's shoes and understand what they're thinking or feeling, it all seems kinda lame to me, but here's an attempt.....
Shame- "I'm pregnant, and (parents, family, church, etc) will judge me..."
Shame- (rape or incest) "It wasn't even my fault..."
Insecurity- "My (boyfriend, live-in, husband, etc) won't love me anymore, and he'll leave me..."
Fear- (high school) "What will my (family, friends, etc) do to me- I shouldn't be pregnant at this time..."
Fear- (adult/married) "What will my (husband, boyfriend) do- he doesn't want kids..."
Yeah, they all sound shallow to me too, but I'm pretty sure that there are those who really feel these things. I suspect that they feel that gettng an abortion is the only way out of the difficult situation they're in.
