80% of humanity, the religious folks, don't need to ask the meaning of life, the church tells them....the supernatural explanation. But the rest of us can't swallow religious dogma, because there's no evidence. Nobody can prove that there life after death, that people are tortured or rewarded after life or that there's invisible spirits running around.

I've come to two conclusions recently:

1. Life has no meaning
2. Life has a million meanings.

First, there's a certainty that death and annihilation awaits not only you, but the Earth in general. It's an astonomical certainty that our sun will supernova and leave the earth a burnt crisp, not to mention all the other extinction level events around the corner.

Second, the million things that give us meaning are the pleasurable experiences we can conjure up during the short period we are here on the earth, in the form of the relationships we have with our kids and other people, and the 'housekeeping' types of purposes. What i mean by that are the curing disease, ending hunger, improving literacy, reducing crime, preventing war, helping other kinds of things.

So the bottom line is, we only have a temporary meaning to life, to reduce pain and increase pleasure, other than that everything is lost to oblivion.

To be or not to be? "To be" is temporary and "not to be" is inevitable.............

The meaning of life is to glorify God in all that we do, while making a difference in the lives of others according to the cause of the Lord Jesus Christ. Compare 100 believers in Christ to 100 individuals whose life consists of booze, immorality, greed, or even ritualistic religion. The Way of truth, which is narrow (yet available to everyone..all that is needed is a desire for Christ) stands alone as the only direction of life that not one of it's true followers have ever regretted it. Why are there so many other views on the meaning of life? Because error is varied and vast. Christians are not perfect people, there is no doubt..but don't judge a perfect God based on His imperfect subjects.

Try and be nice to people, avoid eating fat, read a good book every now and then, get some walking in, and try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations.

The meaning of life is a comedy film/musical made in 1983 by Monty Python.

Life is technically how long your body has been functioning to enable you to create your own thoughts and ideas and choices.

But if you want a less technical term, I would personally say, that the definition of life lies in yourself. You might be Christian and believe in God. Therefore you believe that the meaning and definiation or PURPOSE in life might be to serve God in all the various ways. You might be atheist and think that the definition of life is the technical term. You might believe only in science and believe that too. It all lies in what YOU think life means.

Just joking!

Life means different things to different people. We all have expectations of what life should be like, most want to live in confort, some want to help people take care for themselves, others, study science and try and uncover the "why's" of life.

What the meaning of life is, well....its up to you to decide for yourself.

For me it could be as simple as 42, or most likely something much different.......

Why so many people ask this same question over and over again? You don't need to know the meaning of everything. Have you ever asked yourself what's the meaning of bread? or tomatoes? or onions? or hamburger? or french fries? or pepsi?

The meaning of your like is to **** and suck and tuck and luck and duck. In short it has all the meanings you can attach to it. Got it?

It is a journey. So we might as well enjoy it and be the best that we can be while we are at it because sooner or later, the journey ends.
