I'm so sorry for your loss. I know how it feels as I found out on the 12th Dec 06 at my 12 week scan that our baby had stopped growing at 7 weeks. I had a D&C on the 14th Dec 06- I still can't believe its happened. I'm 'obsessed' with wanting to try again and desperate for my period to arrive which it still hasn't. I've been told that 4-6 weeks is normal to wait. Have you had your HCG levels checked? (the 'pregnancy ' hormone which can still remain in your body apparently up to 10 weeks after a miscarriage) I had a QUANTATIVE (not qualiative) HCG blood test done which determined the accurate level of HCG still in my body. Having the blood test made me feel like at least I knew what my body was up to to some degree! Apparently your period won't even think of starting until your levels are below 5! (mine were 5.12 nearly a week ago). It depends on how far you were in your pregnancy and whether you had any medical intervention (as I did ie a D&C) as to how quick your levels drop. I'm no medical expert and the stuff I've told you is just what I've been told so if your still anxious speak/hassle your GP. You deserve answers and explanations, I've found it so annoying and upsetting that as this is my first (and last I hope) miscarriage you just don't get taken seriously. I wish you all the luck and baby dust for your future. x

First, I am very sorry for your loss.
When you will get your next period will vary on you. When I m/c, I m/c naturally, and I got my period about a week later than I normally would have. I was also about 6 weeks.
Drs. opinions vary, but from what I have heard most, you should wait one complete cycle before trying again. Although, I have known people getting pregnant and having a great pregnancy right after their m/c.
Good luck to you.

I had a miscarriage on Christmas day. My bleeding after was inconsistent. I am still waiting for my period too. My Dr. said to expect my period 4-6 weeks after my miscarriage.
Hope you are doing better. It's tough isn't it?

personal experience. Let your body go through 1 full cyce then start trying again. I myself am waiting for my period. My MC was on 12/24/06. Keep taking prenatals and ask your DR about Baby aspirin. 81mg. It prevents clotting, which may be the cause of your MC. I am on it as well. Stop all caffeine. I wish you all the luck.

Normally a doctor tells you to wait three months before you start trying again. But everyone is different, I had a m/c 2 weeks before Christmas, I did not stop bleeding until a week and a half later, and I have not gotten my period yet. You prob have a week or so to go before you get it, but like I said everyone is different.

Your body will need time to readjust and your hormones need to balance. Once it's working propery, you should be right.
