How to light a match without the brown stuff on the matchbox?

I have many a match but I don't have the stuff to light them nor do I have a lighter, so is there a way that I could use another surface to light them with?

A zipper,piece of sandpaper.

You can use a zipper but that can be dangerous,,,, I would suggest using the sidewalk or use a ruff surface like sandpaper.

alot of these 'safety' matches only light with the box, how that ensures safety ill never no Otherwise u can use a cigarette lighter or heater or hotplate and if all else fails go outside and use a magnifying glass haha
