Don't use water on a watch or toothpaste...Get a silver cleaning cloth works on most metals including gold..they sell them at the Jewelry counter in WalMart, they are a couple of bucks for a box or 4 clothes...and rub, wipe the cloth over the watch band and use a q-tip to force the cloth between the links of the watch and into tight area's...this will clean your watch to a new shine..and won't hurt the finish or workings of the watch..then just put the cloth in the junk drawer..it is reusable!
