RS componants do a good line in meters not specifically for ghost hunting as they will spot / catch gouls and poltergiest aswell.

try ghost busters,it might be old and may even work,seriously have never heard or seen such devices used on the sky TV channel mosthaunted,have seen them use some form of movement detector.
