I'm not really a fan of the hip hop/rap genre, but fans of rap could say rock has no meaning and it all sounds the same. I personally think that everyone is different and that they have their own taste in music, thats why there are so many genres of music. If we only had one type of music, I'd think everyone would go crazy.

Heck yeah rap sucks. Modern rap ONLY talks about things that could get you arrested. Rap lovers could say that all rock sounds the same. Well, there's different types of rock, like heavy metal,d3ath metal, black metal, alternative rock, etc.. Also, rap artists DESPERATELY NEED SOME NEW MOVES!!!!!!!!!! I mean, all they ever do is move their hands up and down. Most rappers do that AT EVERY FREAKIN' CONCERT!!!!!!!! But if you look at rock or metal, almost every singer has their own signature move. For example, Corpsegrinder from Cannibal Corpse does his windmill at almost every performance. Davey Havok of AFI has some bizarre (to me), but unique dance moves. So in short,
Rap- BAD
Rock- GOOD

The music itself sometimes has a cool beat, but the messages involved tend to be negative.
Drugs, violence, and misogyny tend to be central themes.
The bigger players, such as Jay-Z tend to be little more than marketing brands, like Nike or Fritos. Tupac has released more albums dead than alive.
For a lot of people, the words "rap" and "inner-city, uneducated, minority" tend to be intertwined.

Obviously you dont have a very good appreciation for music, because if you did you would realise how much talent it takes to rap and you would respect it irregardless of whether or not you enjoy it.
