The only women that go to a church in a headcovering or veil are in mourning for the recently deceased.

No, I think women should be able to attend churches and perform the ceremonies of the church as well. The veil is a demeaning symbol, suggestive that women must hide themselves from God. I have even been told by a Roman Catholi priest that women had to cover their heads to avoid offending God. Bunk! Hellooooo, God is not offendedby God's creations.

It's all tradition. Myself, I don't think it makes a bit of difference if a woman wears a hat, veil, or wig. I don't think it makes a difference for a man either. I doubt if God cares whether people eat pork chops, shrimp, or blood sausage. I guess I'll find out when I'm dead, because I don't think there's a person alive who speaks for God.

First Corinthians 11 hints at that, saying women should have their heads covered, but then it goes on to say that her hair is her covering. So no, I don't feel the need to wear anything to cover my head. I've got hair down to my waist and growing, so I think that part is taken care of.

we had to wear them in the catholic church when I was growing up and I always liked it because it made me feel special...now I look back and know it was a sign of respect. I think it would be great to bring back any show of respect since it's hard to find anywhere anymore. And I don't even go to church...

Well, seeing as I am a Feminist and Atheist I say Sure, let women do whatever they want to do. This is the twenty-first century, women are supposed to be considered equals.
