I would suggest taking a sewing class. They'll teach you how to make your own outfits, so that you'll be able to make more than just a simple dress. In 7th grade, my first project was an apron, and my second was a blouse. If a 7th grader can do it, anyone can. There are also beginner books at Wally World (Wal-Mart) that can teach you the basics. It's not that hard. The hard part is having access to a sewing machine. <*)))><

You'll probably need to use a sewing machine, otherwise, it'll take you years.

Once you've tracked down a sewing machine that you can use, go to your local fabric store. They sell patterns. The staff should be able to help you. If they're idiots, look for patterns with obvious names like, "Sew Simple" and such. Many pattern manufacturers have one or more lines of patterns for beginners.

Be sure to get a simple fabric, too. Don't get a stretchy fabric, patterned fabric, velvet, corduroy, silk or any other speciality fabrics. They're harder to work with, and/or you have to line up the fabrics. Just get a plain coloured, medium weight fabric. The patterns generally have advice about how much and what fabric to use.

you can find simple dress patterns at places like walmart or a fabrics store but you still need to have some background knowledge on how to sew... even the simplest of dresses will require you to know things like how to measure yourself for the fit and different types of stitches and how to baste... you'll also need to know how to sew in zippers and how to make button holes and sew the right kinds of buttons for it if the pattern calls for such things... it's pretty easy to do and you can buy a self explanatory book on sewing... but again, you will need to practice how to do the basics firsts before you get into a project like that... it's fun once you learn it and really get started though! hope this answered your question, and good luck with the dress!!!

For a real simple dress, just take a bed sheet, wrap it around your waist, and tie the ends. You have just made a very simple dress.

take a large garbage bag, cut a hole in the bottom and stick it over your head. You might want to cut holes in the side for your arms, but hey, why not try to create a new style, right?!
With the right belt, you can be a trendsetter.

Oh wait, you've already ASKED this question....
