I believe I had a miscarriage 1 week after I concieved. Is this possible? I believe I conceived on Janaruy 5th and I started to bleed for 2 days - Heavy bleeding on the 12th and 13th. I stopped bleeding on the 14th and on the 15th started bleeding again due to my period. Tests never showed I was pregnant because it had only been 1 week. I had headaches, cramps, back pain, etc.

I would like to get pregnant. I didn't go to the doctor after the first bleeding. Should I have gone? I feel fine. I should be ovulating on the 29th. Any recommendations on how to increase my chances of a successful pregnancy? I've given up coffee and wine/ alcohol. I drink decaf and non-alcoholic wine. Any vitamins I should be taking? Certain positions or times of the day?

Thanks :)

It's always possible that you had a miscarriage a week after you conceived, because a large percentage of early pregnancies end in miscarriage (it doesn't necessarily mean that you'll have problems getting pregnant in the future!) It's not necessary to go to the doctor unless you're having pain or unusual discharge or odor with the bleeding, or a fever or other symptoms of illness, because it could indicate an infection or an ectopic pregnancy.

Giving up coffee and alcohol is EXCELLENT! Another important thing to remember when you're trying to get pregnant is to take a multivitamin with folic acid to help prevent birth defects. Doctors usually recommend that you start taking that a few months before trying to get pregnant, but starting it now would definitely be important as well!

In terms of having sex, you should have sex more frequently a few days before you ovulate to a few days after. Every other day is usually good to aim for; sperm counts can be lower if you have sex every single day.

Good luck!! :)

Sorry for your loss. There are a lot of miscarriages that happen like this. Some women will be pregnant and not even know it. I had a misscarriage at 6wks 4days. I waited a cycle before starting to TTC again. They usually suggest 2 months. Reason being that it may have a hard time sticking. But with yours being so short I would think that you are okay. Are you taking your pre-natals? That will help you, its always a good thing for you and baby. THere are also vitamins for the guy to take too. Calcium is suppose to be good. Red Raspberry leaf tea is good for the mom. Check out fertilityfriend.com That is where I found a lot of my info while going through the TTC process. Good luck to you!

Girl.....slow down...I think the best thing for you to do is to go and see your doctor. The miscarriage thing....i dont think that happened. I mean it is possible but if you got your period it sounded like to me you just had some irregular periods. I am a mom of two boys. I have had 5 miscarriages during that time. The first set was twins. I had endometriosis and a rare blood cell disease in my uterus which resulted in a hysterectomy. If you are serious about getting pregnant and have that significant other....I think you should go and see your doc....explain what has been happening and say that your periods might be irregular but dont make trying to have a baby a chore.....Sex is fun and it should be enjoyed whether in the back of your mind you know you want to get pg. Hope this helps any.

It is likely you had a chemical pregnancy, there is a little info about it online but not much because the doctors don't like to get us worked up about miscarrying because this type of miscarriage is really not a big deal but some women make it one. All women have them at one time or another in their life but dont know they usually just think their periods were late.

The good thing is at least you know you can get prego not you just need to observe your cervical fluid to find out when you ovulate and call your man for the u know what when it gets stretchy like egg-whites.

Good luck

Go to your OB GYN for starters. Tell them you want to TTC and ask for Pre natals. Also explain the bleeding. The bleeding sounds like your period was early. Normally you dont get your PD right after a MC. I myslef had 2 MC and the most recent on 12/24/06 and still havent gotten my period. No positions favorable, just keep your hips elevated after sex and let gravity do its job. No caffeine for now. Definately go see your Dr.Good luck.
