For my legs and armpits I go against the hair, and on my bikini area I go with the hair, so it doesn't get irritated. :)

On my legs, I shave against the growth; the bikini area I shave with it THEN against it. I get a closer & smoother shave this way with less irritation.

According to the guys on "Queer Eye", you should not shave against the hair because that causes ingrown hairs.
