Shame, shame, shame!
What did we do wrong??
Asking too much?
Might just as well teach a bunch of long cut logs!
And the language!!!
Wish you good luck, all the same

I am not a licensed teacher but I did sub for 10 + years.. I don't mind if the person really needs help but MOST of the questions can be found by doing a simple research.. I have no problem with giving someone a topic but when they come on here and say "write a paragraph" or answer these ?s.. I get upset.. What I wonder is how many of these "students" will one day be doctors or nurses.. I read a question on here one time and the person was in medical school and I am thinking "oh dear God, please don't come and practice here"...Math is a hard course and it's hard to find help.. My math book in college was NO help so I don't mind that as long as they don't say "I don't want to know how to do it.. give me the answers.. That will work for homework but what about tests..

I often shake my head in disbelief as I read some of the entries. However, I am glad that students have this venue to seek out help from throughout the world in answering their questions. It's a good thing that some students are receiving suggestions about where to find the answers, nudges in the right directions, and even occasionally...someone to do the work for them as they attempt to learn how. I have had students who have written to me and asked for input on essay topics and suggestions for books to read. I have never felt "depressed," but I can see how some might feel that way. It's important to remember that not all of our students are represented here.

I had no idea until I started reading some of these questions that it is so easy for kids today not to learn. So many great resources this technology has brought us, and rather than use them and feed their brains they are hoping someone else will think for them. I am more than happy to help translate, but I have quickly realized that I am the pawn and most of these guys are cheating from my answers. Makes me wish I could retract some of the answers I have given and make them think it out, but they would just use someone else. How truly sad. Some of the questions they ask are from tough subjects, granted, but none are impossible, and all I am seeing is laziness. Shame on me for answering the few I have answered but I have realized the err of my ways, and I will no longer contribute to their failure.

I'm not a teacher but it is depressing because the kids always just want answers or where to find essays. They are always finding ways to get their work without having to do it.

I'm not a teacher, but it is sobering that kids want the information right now, but are not willing to put the time in to gain knowledge.

The internet is helping to make kids incredibly dumb. It's quite sad, indeed.
