I am ready for a child, our best friends (married) have an 8 month old, and our other friends (not married) are going to have a baby in August... I personally don't think people need or should be married to have children if thier happy where they are..And we're not married, but we make enough money to support a child, and we're very happy together, how do I go about telling him that I want a child, even though he has said that he's not ready yet, but will leave on a drop of a dime for my friends 8 month old. He gives me mixed signals. He loves to be around the baby but doesn't want one of his own. He always says we need to wait til we make more money, once we did he says he wants to wiat til October, that was 3 months ago. Every time it's an excuse.. What do you think??

I think If he doesn't want a child right now I wouldn't push the issue he may leave you if you get pregnant after he said hes not ready. Its a good way to lose your mate.

MAYBE YOUR READY BECAUSE YOUR FRIENDS HAVE THEIR OWN CHILD BUT HE IS NOT READY.

ACTUALLY YOU COULD GET ALL THE MONEY IN THE WORLD AND NEVER BE READY UNTILL YOU ARE PREGNANT.

YOU SHOULD TALK TO HIM AND IF AGAIN HE MENTIONS THAT HE STILL IS NOT READY FOR A CHILD OF HIS OWN THEN YOU HAVE A CHOICE ... EITHER WAIT OR NOT.

IS EASY TO GO NUTS OVER A FRIENDS CHILD BUT THAT IS BECAUSE THE CHILD IS WITH YOU GUYS FOR A FEW HRS AND NOT 24/7 ... WHICH IS NOT THE SAME. WHEN YOU HAVE A BABY 24/7 THAT NEEDS ATTENTION, MILK, DIAPER CHANGING, CUDDLE OR NEEDS A DOCTOR BECAUSE HE OR SHE HAS A PAIN OR WHEN HE/SHE CANNT SLEEP AND STARTS TO CRY OVER AND OVER .... I TELL YA IS NOT EASY ... SO TALK TO HIM ABOUT UR BIOLOGICAL CLOCK TICKING AND EXPLAIN YOUR NEEDS.

Tell him there is never a perfect time to have a child you just need to go ahead and have one.
If you want to wait till you make more you never will make enough money to have a child work into a budget.
Good Luck
