Hands down, the original were awesome! I could play those games all day! The new ones aren't true to the original! I think after Super Nintendo, everything pretty much changed too much and sucked! I even remember having that orange gun for shooting the ducks. Those were fun games. Now, it's like every other game out there. Mario and Luigi will always appeal to kids though and as the kids evolve, so do these classic characters.

I guess both are ok but I'm more familiar with the old 2d ones. One of the gamecube mario games is called paper mario, and thats a 2d game.

Meh, personally, I like Super Mario 64 (DS). The 2D stuff is very nostalgic, but I prefer the newer stuff.

i like them all they are all fun to play, even though they have changed quite a bit. i would still prefer the old supermario any day.

the old school stuff is cool but i have to say the newer stuff is easier on the eyes
