I've recently been doing origami and I've never seen a rose. I've seen lotus, morning glory, tulip (open and flat), hydrangea, generic flowers, sunflower, and a few more but I can't remember all of them.
You could try quilling a rose (it involves little strips of paper wound around a toothpick or pin).
