I thoguht my voice was pretty low, but after hearing my voicemail message, I realize that I sound very effeminate. It has made me extremely self-conscious, and as a result, I would like to do something to lower my voice, other than surgery or drugs. Any reccomendations (serious reccomendations) would be greatly appreciated!

I don't think you need to change your vioce. You should be grateful for who you are, for your uniqueness. Beside, it's not everyone are happy with their vioces.

My voice is high too. Yeah, I thought that because I heard a voice recording of myself on voice mail, but i just have to deal with it. Like someone else said, its just the voice mail system.
I'm not that old yet so I have years to come to wait for my voice to automatically adjust.
So basically, you just have to be patient if you are young, but if you're older and have already reached puberty, just relax your voice, try to sing but in a low pitch, and just be happy with your own voice.

There really isn't much that you can do. I would just deal with it, your voice is your voice who cares what other's think about it which is causing you to think about how you sound. No one likes the sound of their own voice. If you constantly try to change the register of your voice then you will end up damaging your vocal cords.

Ah, first of all, don't base your voice on what your voice mail sounds like! Those systems make us all sound higher-pitched.
There are exercises you can do to relax your throat and larynx, but I don't have the details on them. Try Google or Amazon (for books.) But it can be done without drugs or surgery. I've seen it on TV before.

well u can always go back in time and ask your mom to have a child with a man with a deeper voice or you cansleep under an air conditioner... worked for me have too do it 2 nights in a row.... or just get sick.... eitherway it works for me
