This is one of the lowest price 500Gb I could find at the moment. What do you think about it?

I do highly recommend Western Digital. They are realiable and get the job done.

Amazon is doing some amazing deals on Western Digital External Hard drives I suggest you have a look and there will be loads more reviews. You can also compare prices.

But sure Western Digital are fine.. I used them for a few years and was very satisifed. I only changed as I had more money to spend and got a External Hard Drive with in built fan.

Check cache 16mb is best, also what is the RPM speed, should be 7,200rpm!
Do you really need a 500GB HDD?
Look at a 150Gb Raptor drive (Also made by Western Digital), they are the fastest at 10,000rpm ,and the data transfer is lightning fast!
Then you can fit it into an ICY Box.
