Because they make the playoffs every year and they spend more money than anyone to get players that really outperform their peers.

I would imagine that the 11 teams that beat them this year think they are great because the so graciously did not score as many points as them. Being a Dallas Cowboys fan I think they are great because they created an awkward score in the 1st quarter and got Bill Parcells to go for 2 instead of a PAT and then beat them with a last second field goal that otherwise should not have happened save for the 2pt attempt debacle.

What , i havent heard about them since regular season ended so you might wanna rephrase that, something like "why are the patriots such a great team" there that sounds right.

They are great football team, off the field and on paper. But on the field they are the worse team.
