This is a great question and have give it a thumbs up, the problem we men have is that we like to think of ourselves as the physically stronger sex and any attack on that has to be defended, trying to keep an unbiased mind i would say that in general men are stronger than women, but i have watched women's football and there must be a lot of women out there who are better at sports than a lot of men. Could women be integrated into the same game as men, I do see a future where men and women play alongside each other but i am not sure how long we will have to wait for that

Cami Granato grew up playing hockey with her brother but was in no way fit for the NHL. Was she a fantastic women's hockey player? Yes, but she would not cut it on an NHL team.
Michelle Wie is trying to play men's golf and that's not going so well for her either. Acutally, she's not even doing so hot on the LPGA, but that's another story.
As the mom of boys who play soccer, both high school varsity and high level club programs, I hate it when they play against girls. It totally screws up the game dynamic. We spend their entire lives teaching them not to hit girls, then a girl steps onto the court/field with them and they don't know what to do. Part of their brain says, "take her out" as they would with any opponent but then the other part jumps in with, "no, she's a girl, I might hurt her!" Which is a good thing. It's how I've raised them.
So even though I am a woman, as a sports fan, I hate seeing women playing on a men's team. I feel that it dilutes the quality of play, not because the woman is inferior, but because the man is uncertain of how to play.
The only exception I can think of would be a one on one sport such as tennis, wrestling, golf, etc, all venues where women have tried and met with little success. The other exception is the kicker position in footbal which has built in protections of the position.
But I think the best way to raise the level of a women's sport is to have strong, dynamic, talented women playing. And siphoning off your best players to a men's team would totally defeat that.

I have often thought it wrong that women's sports get so little attention. While there are many famous female sports people the women's events tend to get less publicity. For example the men's world cup gets treated like the most important cultural event ever while the women's cup is ignored. It does get my goat. Even if the women's team is not as successful I still think they should get the same recognition as the men.

(I’m English) I have no problem with girls playing on a level playing field (sorry), I have two daughters. However, I do think that physical contact sports (leaving aside the sex thing) are for the most part incompatible due to the males more “natural” power. Naturally, a woman who is as agile and athletic as an equivalent man (same height, etc) would be ~ 56ibs lighter….

I think that all activities, including sports, should be open to the best participants and that selection should be made only on the basis of ability. Applies across the board - no 'affirmative action', 'positive discrimination' or any other euphemisms that mean that the best person is denied the opportunity to be included.

I think women should play whatever sport they want to....if it is a coed league.
I DO NOT think women should play in the PGA (Professional Golfer's Association), they have the LPGA. If I was a male golf pro but couldn't make it in the PGA, should I play in the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) ?
They could have a trained chimp play in a golf tournament, but should they?
All Michelle Wie and Annika Sorenstam are doing is making a spectacle and a mockery of the sporting world and golf in particular.

there are females on pro sports teams, just not many of them yet. the problem is not the lack of talent or performance on the womans part, but the lack of respect and security in the locker room. most jocks have an overwhelming desire to dominate smaller creatures of the opposite sex in the locker room, rape being the biggest problems. the sports thatdo come to mind are wrestling, basket ball (see GLOBE TROTTERS/MAJICIANS), figure skating, swimming and stock car driving. where the women do make inroads to any co-ed type team, they generally excell quite well and easily, their performance is visible and appreciated by all.

Personally, I wouldn't be upset at all. If a woman could contribute in a competitive sport and be a team player...why not?

well i though the sports bit of sports was inclusive..so it is a paradox..that you describe... a hypothetical.... non sporting attitude.....at the end of the day generally but not always men are physically stronger..so in a contact sport there needs to be a seperation...however for other sporting activities...for example darts..where skill is the major aspect...the there is no reason why there cannot be mixed doubles ect..as there is in tennis.....as for prejudice.....that takes a shift in perception....and in sport money talks...

I am assuming you are American..well its the same here (UK) women's football or soccer as you call it as its own leagues but nobody goes to watch them hardly and there is no money in it...anyway football(soccer) should only be watched by women and not played and i am guessing that as not gone down to well with you ..lol..oh well.
