You don't necessarily have to work a real job. Think of a neighborhood service you can provide for example, mowing lawns, babysitting, raking leaves. You can run errands for people or if you're good w/computers you can make signs or type papers for people. Just think about it, I'm sure you can provide a service to others w/some skill you have. Check online to find about child labor laws in your area.

At 14 you can work in agriculture (picking vegetables) from the ground only. You can deliver newspapers, babysit and that sort of work. You can also work in stores as a bagger, cart fetcher, or stock clerk up to 25 hours per week during the school year. 30 hours per week in summer.

You cannot lift in excess of 25 pounds, use or operate any type of power equipment including forklifts, lawnmowers, or cars. You cannot work after 9:00pm (Sun.- Thur) or after 10:00 pm on weekends. You also cannot use any type of hazardous chemicals including cleaning supplies (toilette cleaners, window cleaners etc.)

You can be paid the "training wage" as allowed by state and federal law where you live. You will also need a work permit from your school department. However most employers will hesitate to hire you because of these restrictions.

In Missouri, you can get a work permit at age 14. I'm not sure about California. Have our parent's call the administration department for your school district or the counselor at your school and they will be able to answer that questions. Other than that, you will need to do odd jobs like babysit, cut grass, or even tutuor. I hope this helps and good luck!

yeah, i agree with everyone else.
i don't know you can apply for a job, but if you find one, you need to get a work permit(i'm not exactly sure you can at 14 but i know you can at 16!)
i'm fourteen too but all i can do is work around the neighborhood.
just ask around, and maybe you'll find one!
(babysitting is pretty good!)

A paper route. You could start at 11 years old.

Your best bet is doing odd jobs and cash in hand type jobs because at 14 i don' think you are legally allowed to get "hired" there.

good luck!
