Why do I feel more mature then my classmates?

I'm in the tenth grade and sometimes I feel so much more mature then my classmates! They are horrible to the teachers being pests by yelling out and talking constantly. They are also rude to the other people in the class. Its silly its like your shunned if you don't do drugs, aren't popular, don't dress a certain way, or are curtious to the teachers. I mean I goof off sometimes too but I do it after school or during lunch. I don't do drugs, smoke or drink. I don't need them to have fun. My friends and I are considered weird because we joke around alot, are good kids and respectful. Why do I feel light years more mature then my classmates sometimes?

Could growing up with 4 sisters made me less judgemental then people my age?

I'm also in the tenth grade. My friends and I more mature than most of the kids at my school and we also respect the teachers at my school and other adults, we don't do drugs, drink, smoke, or act out in class, we still have fun but know when to stop goofing off and be serious. Our other classmates don't shun us because we don't act a certain way, they come to us for advice or help on homework, but I go to a smaller school so we're all very close and can trust one another.

You feel more mature because you are. Your parents or someone in your life taught you the proper way to do things and behave and that is not a crime and shouldnt outcast u but it does and in certain parts of your life it will again. It is not necessarily maturity though it is more, protocol, common sense and intelligence and that is a good thing. I promise it wont stop in high school all through your life you may be different from your peers because the upcoming generations are rude and drug users and have a lack of pride and self respect. It is people like u that will make it far. So just ignore the immaturity and stay true to u.

dont worry, i was the same way in high school. i was the ONLY student who had a grade past a c in my english class which i could hardly believe. (i had all a's and everyone else had d's and f's SERIOUSLY) because i was the only one who listened and respected the teachers and did the work. (i got tease in some ways because i was the "smart" kid) but come on, at least i know im going to go to college and make tons more money in the future and half those kids will be in mcdonalds for most of their lives. honestly, dont stress that you and your friends are more mature and considered "weird," i mean at least you're actually gonna do something with your life. You have started out great, just keep going on that path. dont change it for anyone else. you will go far in life if you keep it up. trust me

Because sweetie, your parents obviously taught you how to respect those around you and everyone is jealous of you. Kids can be so mean...I can remember I hated school because they were the same way 20 years ago when I started school as they are now that you are in the 10th grade. You are more mature than them. Welcome to the world of maturity!!

This is where high school sucks. When I was in HS I was like you--I was clear of all drugs and alcohol, respected myself, paid attention in school, respected myself, etc.

Right now you're at the maturity level of a 25 year old. Your classmates haven't gotten to the point of 13.

It's going to stink, trust me. It's nice to have people who are immature, but it gets boring.

Just wait until college--you'll find people who match your maturity and then some. Just wait until you can have an intelligent discussion on the balance of religion in the United States or discuss a book and have people actually care!

There is only one reason you real this way and it is because you are just way more polite. Lots of kids are gooing through the same thing you are, maybe not in your grade or even your high school, but there kids and teens who feel the same way. Just make sure you don't go off hanging out with older kids b ecause they can get you caught into so much its not even funny.

WOW.. well I was the same way. I always wondered why kids were so Immature. Actually thats a good sign, it means while they are messing around they dont learn. so therefor they dont know as much. But yes i understand what you mean.
just try to ignore them, you'll get ahead in the world!!!
But in a way, it might not be good for you.

Nah, but really, there are more than a few folks like that. Don't stress it: the fact that you're not doing drugs will pay off soon. Yeah, you're not taking the easy way out and having fun by drinking 80proof every weekend, but you probably have other things to do to keep you occupied.

It is probably because you are more mature than them. We all mature at different rates and most likely due to the way you were raised and the way you perceive things you have just grown up quicker. Just let them know it bothers you if it does otherwise just let it roll off your back.
