Interaction. Tolerance, Co-mingling. Intertwining, Melding, that's all off the top of my head.

The blending/melding/integration of two different forces is sometimes called "synthesis" or "synergy" (if they reinforce each other). You could say something like "complementarity" if elements of each complement the other. Or "peaceful coexistence" if they're both present together. You could also use the idea of overlay, where new is layered over the old, so you can see both at once, like a face under a veil. (I learned a GREAT word for that--palimpsest.)

Your use of convergence, though, suggests a word that refers more to dynamic change. In that case, the only things I can think of refer to the process of new becoming old (regressive, vintage, nostalgic, etc) or old becoming new (progressive, modernizing, evolving). I'm stuck on a word that makes them converge equally--maybe something about cycles?

But I share your gut feeling that there's a better word specifically referring to a harmonious mix of old and new.
