Schottenheimer was run out of Kansas City for the same thing. However, it is hard to fault him this time. When he was coaching the Chiefs, he had a big hand in play calling and the conservative approach they took. This time, he left the play calling to Cam Cameron. It wasn't his fault that receivers kept dropping passes and one of his players head butted a Patriot in front of the ref after a stop on defense. The worst offender was the guy who intercepted that pass in the fourth quarter and then fumbled. If he had just laid down, or if he had batted the ball down as it was a fourth down play, we would be talking about Chargers-Colts today.

National media predicted this. He gets too conservative. Also, he doesn't prepare the team well for the emotional side of playoff football. He knew he had a lot of young, excitable guys, but he couldn't get it across to them that they could not afford stupid penalties. Look at Brady, when they show a close up of him in the pocket. He is all business. That is what Marty needs S.D. to act like.

I think he is in a funk, Just like John Elway could not win a Super
Bowl He prevailed and finally he did, Bill Cowher had the
same kind of record in play off games.. Bad... Lost several at home as top seed once when he was 15 and 1 I guess
