First names, none of us have a choice what name our parents give us, I've never liked my own, trouble is, I can't think of a name I'd rather be called. So do you like your name and if not, what would you change it to?

Seems many like their names but a lot have concerns with the spelling. I always have to spell mine out (no secret, it's Darryl)...always have to say with 2 R's and a Y. (And I get Darly a lot) But it's better than what my father wanted (Horace) YUK!

I love my name but I hate that it's very common and that i was known as an initial throughout school ... the one good thing was my mom spelled it very uniquely but people always say it wrong when they read it from paper.

After growing up with a common name I named my daughter a rearly heard name and then the next month a very popular OSCAR winning movie came out with her name used as one of the main characters. Thank god no one pick up the name and she is the only one in her class with he name!!

I don't really like it, my mom found it in a magazine article and thought it was a nice name. But when I got older and saw the list she had written in the back of a "Name Your Baby Book" as alternatives, I'm glad she chose this name that I have. She is so uncreative. And I hate how people always mispronounce it and misspell it.

I used to not like it when I was a kid, because no one else had my name, and people were always misspelling it "Daniel" (my skating coach when I was a kid insisted on pronouncing it that way, too!). Now I love it because of its semi-uniqueness (although "Danielle" is a LOT more common now than when I was a grade school kid), even though I still get some folks who spell it like the boy version.

I like my name. About 15 years ago, when I was in high school, a friend of mine didn't like her first or middle name. She actually went to court, with her parents, and had her first and middle name changed. Can you believe that?

The only reason I like my name is because of the Beach Boys song. I can't think of another name I would want either so I guess I'll keep it.

My mom named me rather unique, and it was popular in the 1930's. I'm not very fond of it, but i can't think of any other name i want to be called so guess i'll stick with my name.
