There are those who are trying to change the foundation of our constitution because he was not born in the U.S.
But you can't change the entire law for just one person, you have to change it for EVERYONE. So my question is, how would they write this law to keep the riff-raff out? I mean that same law that let's Arnie be president would allow say, a sleeper terrorist to gain the office?
Have they even thought about that? So how do you think this would be handled?
They just said there are 26 candidates for the 2008 election!!!

Ok.... I phrased it wrong.. Riff-raff should have been "riff-raff." Didn't think I needed to completely explain that and bore everyone with detail.
I never voted for Bush.

There are many things I disagree with concerning our government and constitution, however, one thing I DO agree with is the fact that only U.S. born citizens can run for President. To me, it seems so out of whack to have someone who is not American running our country. I truly hope the law won't be changed.

No, I don't want Arnold for President.
I want John McCain for president in 08, Obama in '12.

Obviously the current law hasn't kept the riff-raff out. We voted for Bush...twice.

No. If the Federal goverment does not provide Schwarzenegger a private loan, California would be doomed. So, if Arnold won't be in a position to run a state, how interior the international do you think of he can run a rustic?

To be honest, it seems like the government does whatever fits them for the time being. If they find a good enough reason to allow Schwarzenegger to be president, they'll find a way around their laws and limitations and get him in the hot seat. It's just the way the government works. I wouldn't be surprised if Bush got to run another term since he is one of the "Golden Children" and all ... but I suppose only time will tell on that one.

Moot point. He can't be president. To change the constitution of the USA would require ratification by the states and all 50 have an equal say. So there is no way that the majority of states will ratify such a change to the constitution, why would they?

No, I don't think Arnold should be president. They should keep the rules for president very strict. I natural born citizen should be the only one to be president of our own country. Although, I do think Arnold is great at what he does. He's great because he knows California and it's needs. He is making so many great changes. I just don't agree with changing a presidents citizenship.

If you believe that 60 percent of your hard earned money wants to be given away to have national health care for everyone including illegal aliens. Sure why not every other politician has put the screws to the working man

I would love Arnold Schwarzenegger for president but I do not think it is worth it to change that law just for 4 (or 8) years of a good president. This law is to protect our country.

While I would not vote for Schwarzenegger, i cannot believe that naturalized citizens cannot aspire to our highest office. I would guess a bench Mark of holding lesser seats would be a requirement by way of vetting the candidate.

The law shouldn't be changed. Period. There is not way around the fact that if it were different, then ANYONE could be president!
Particularly for one individual.
Particularly if that individual is a hypocrite who just likes the sound of his own voice.
