I created a free acount and played for a few days. One of the days that i played my computer just shot down for no reason. I want to know if anyone ever experienced this while playing Runescape? And did that game actually give me the virus?

No. A legal copy of Runscape, or any original copy of a PC game, will not give you a virus. Though in rare occations a virus could be implanted by an angery or disturbed programmer. But in your case what might be the problem is your graphic card or graphic drivers. There my be a conflict with the game and the software that runs your graphics card or intergrated chip. I would look for updates for your PC and Windows. If anything... buy a virus protection program and search your PC for a virus.

More than likely its a driver conflict.

If you have a Nvidia card or chip go to: www.nvidia.com
If you have a ATI card go to : www.ati.com

I've been playing runescape since 2003. You won't get a virus from runescape, mainly because it is a browser based game. Never, ever had a problem with it. Besides, if the virus is on the computer you don't play runescape on, how would you imagine that runescape caused the virus, if you never logged on from that computer?

No, Unless you download the desktop Icon thingy to instantly launch its site, but that will not give your PC a virus unless you got it some where besides runescape.com

No, because it is an online game. If you accidently click a banner or ad above the game page, though, you could get one.

The game will not give you computer viruses. I think that it makes your computer more prone to viruses, though (if that's possible).
