What grade/year are you in school? Without knowing that it's hard to answer this question. Think about books that you enjoyed and periods in history that seem particularly interesting. Remember, history doesn't have to be 100 years ago. You can do the 1980s too! Now head to your local library or access their homework help online and a librarian will steer you in the right direction.

For history may be a past president like John F Kennedy everyone one loved him. And then later on we find out he had an affair with Marilyn Monroe etc. and wasn't so perfect. Or you could use past president Bill Clinton. Just an idea. Good Luck!

Someone from literature who wasn't what he seemed - Mr. D'Arcy from Pride & Prejudice. It's even been made into a movie (actually, more than one), though the book is a great read.
