My girlfriend has driven from Las Vegas to San Francisco. She says agrees with a prior answer in that it takes about 8 hours to drive between the two cities.

You can make it in 7 if you take the back roads. 580 to the 5 to the 99 to the 57 or 37 (through tehachapi) to the 15 to Las Vegas. Sorry, reverse that.

Mapquest estimates the driving time at 9 hours (565 miles)
The route used is the "classic" route via the San Joaquin Valley. The major portions (I-15, CA-58, I-5 and I-580 are all major, milti-lane freeways with plenty of gasoline stations and food outlets along the way.

Mapquest says it takes 8 hours, 48 minutes to get from Treasure Island in Vegas to City Hall in San Fran. Adjust accordingly.

I've driven that route many times. It takes anywhere between 8-10 hours. I would say more like 8 though. 10 is if there's traffic anywhere in between.

Depends on your speed, daytime or nighttime and how many times you stop for a rest. It usually takes me about 10 hours from the bay area. It is safer to stop every hour or so and get out and stretch your legs.
