You can look in the Yellow Pages or other phone book under "Fill Dirt" or "Topsoil".
They will bring a dump truck load for $50 to $70. If the area is accessible, they will dump it right in the hole. Otherwise you will have to cart it over and do the filling yourself.
Of course, this amount will be more than enough, but if you have an uneven spot in your yard or other fill-in issues, you can use the remainder to solve those as well.

As everyone else has said you will need to use top soil if you are wanting to use it as garden again.
The surface area of your hole is roughly 6.3 square metres. If you multiply that by the depth in METRES then you will get the volume.
If you call a supplier (found generally under turf and top soil suppliers) they will give you a price on that.
If all that seems like too much hard work call a landscaping firm and they'll do the hard work for you.

You do NOT want to "just get a load of top soil" to fill in a hole that size; it may fill in for now but you will have a low spot there after a few rain showers.
You need to fill the hole in with 'clay' type soil, something that you will be able to compact. After filling the hole, the last couple of inches can be filled with top soil or "black dirt" to plant grass or whatever.

Consider calling a quarry. There is probably one near you. ALso try a 'dirt' seller. They can bring a dump truck (s) and fill it in, for a price of course, or, you can do it your self with a couple (several) trips in a pickup to get fill dirt.
Good Luck! Just look in the yellow pages!

if you just want to fill the hole, fill it with builders rubble upto about 1 or 2 foot below ground level, then soil (remember to compact the soil down so you have no sinkage) so you will had good drainage if you want a flower/veg bed

if you have any trees you have that need to be taken care of, this would be a great filler. tree chips are cheap and a lot easier to obtain than a dump truck for dirt and rocks. dirt and rocks at local garden stores or something more commercial would probably suit you though.

Just buy some top soil. You can get it by the truck load or the dump truck load. Look in the yellow pages under landscaping.

you're missing one dimension to figure out how many cubic yard of ..... sand to have delivered!..., but first if your pond had a concrete bottom, you need to jack hammer several holes in the bottom of it so migrating water will drain... otherwise you will have a mud pit! length x width x depth
----------------------------- = cubic yards
