Crawling is NOT a developmental milestone.
Developmental milestones are a set of functional skills or age-specific tasks that most children can do at a certain age range. Your pediatrician uses milestones to help check how your child is developing. Although each milestone has an age level, the actual age when a normally developing child reaches that milestone can very quite a bit. Every child is unique!
She may never crawl-she may go straight to walking-and that is fine. It is no cause for concern.
IF babies actually crawl, it usually begins at around 8 to 10 months.
Crawling may be encouraged by spending time on the floor with the baby and by placing favorite toys just out of reach.

Two very important things to remember about being a mother;
1. Never rush your baby. Love each moment.
2. Never ever compare your baby's developmental skills to others her age.
Each child is different. If your doctor isn't worried, neither should you. My daughter did everything quicker than most children and my son took longer than most. They are both healthy and intelligent elementary school age children now. So, once again, don't worry so much.

Well every child is different, mine is almost two and says maybe 10 words... but i took her to the doctor just to make an development check, that what you should definitely do. You always need to react quick on things like this, even if it's nothing you never know if it something you could stop in early age and you didn't you will forever regret it.So my advice go to see her doctor.

trust me, she will crawl at her own pace...my son is now 11 and a half months old and he learned to crawl 3 weeks ago and now he is pulling himself up to a stand with the furnitures help. like you, i was freaking when he was not crawling and i did the same as you...i went on yahoo answers and asked people as i was concerened and constanly comparing him to when my 9 yr old daughter was a baby and what i have learned is every baby is different. I'd wait until she is a year old...she will either crawl or stand up or both by then.

Crawling hard wires the brain, ask any psychologist. It most defiantly is crucial to brain development.
There are many reasons that your baby isn't crawling. You need to take her to the Dr. There are medical conditions that can cause her not to be able to crawl. On the other hand, she may just have her own agenda. Your Dr. is the only one who can answer this for you.

I understand your worry, but try not to. If she gets to be 1 and had not shown signs than just ask her pedi about it. She may be one of those babies shat don't crawl , they just start walking out of no where! Good luck and don't worry. She is probably just taking her time. She will do it when she is good and ready.

Don't panic, your baby is probably just fine...Babies develop at their own speed so just sit back & relax....Some never crawl & get straight to standing & walking....It varies with each individual baby...
